EPT ThrophyThe European Poker Tour (EPT) has returned to Cyprus, following its highly praised debut in 2023. Held at the stunning Merit Diamond Resort in Kyrenia, the festival is set to be an exciting week and a half of poker action. With a strong presence from Spanish players, hopes are high for many thrilling performances and potential victories.

€10K Mystery Bounty Event

As Day 2 kicked off, three Spanish players found themselves in a competitive field of 75 participants after late registration. The bounty envelopes were ready at the start of Level 13, and Adrián Mateos wasted no time, knocking out France’s Sonny Franco in one of the earliest eliminations. Despite a strong start, Mateos struggled after doubling up a short-stacked opponent and was unable to recover, leading to his exit.

Similarly, Vicente Delgado also faced challenges, going head-to-head with chip leader Vladimir Korzinin, but was eliminated shortly after Mateos. Elías Gutiérrez began Day 2 in second place but gradually slid down the leaderboard, playing a short stack of 17 big blinds. After battling for survival, he too fell to Korzinin’s aggressive play.

Korzinin and Christoph Vogelsang collected a considerable amount of chips and bounties but were eliminated before reaching the heads-up stage. The tournament concluded with a Spanish-speaking victory, thanks to Uruguayan Marcelo Bonanata, who claimed the top prize. Yulian Bogdanov and runner-up Aleksejs Ponakovs also displayed remarkable skill in collecting bounties throughout the event.
