Negreanu at PGT
Poker legend Daniel Negreanu continues to dominate the poker scene, clinching his third title of the season at the PGT PLO Series. In a fierce battle at Event #6 ($10,100 PLO), Negreanu overcame top players, including Argentina’s Nacho Barbero, who finished in sixth place.
Negreanu Shines in a Tough Final Table
The tournament attracted 104 entries, creating a prize pool of $1,040,000. With payouts reserved for the top 15 players, the final table of six was stacked with elite talent. Negreanu, entering the final stretch with the second-largest chip stack, quickly gained control, maintaining his lead throughout the match.
Despite a strong showing throughout the series, Nacho Barbero exited in sixth place, earning $52,000 after losing an unavoidable cooler to Alex Foxen.
Wantman’s Rollercoaster Journey
Matthew Wantman started the final table as the short stack with just 390,000 chips, but a series of double-ups propelled him to third place, where he was eventually eliminated by Negreanu.
In the heads-up battle, Negreanu entered with a commanding 3-to-1 chip lead over Foxen. It took the Canadian poker star only 30 minutes to secure victory, adding yet another title to his illustrious career.
