A Spanish-Driven Final Table at GGPoker
Monday at GGPoker was filled with Spanish success, thanks to two of the world’s top players, Juan Pardo and Adrián Mateos. Both reached the final table of the WSOP High Rollers: $10,300 Monday Super HR, giving fans a double dose of joy.
As is typical with such prestigious tournaments, the final table was packed with talent. Well-known players like Roman Romanovskyi, Pieter Aerts, Enrico Camosci, Chris Brewer, and Joao Vieira were all vying for the win, making it a fierce competition for Pardo and Mateos.
With 85 total entries, the tournament generated a prize pool of $850,000, with over half a million dollars awarded at the final table.
Deep Run by Both Spaniards
The eliminations of top players like Romanovskyi, Aerts, “MY1980”, Pablo Silva, and Enrico Camosci brought Pardo and Mateos closer to victory. Both Spaniards found themselves in the 4-handed phase.
Adrián Mateos eventually exited in 4th place, collecting $93,100. Following Chris Brewer’s elimination in 3rd, Juan Pardo was left to battle it out heads-up against the formidable Joao Vieira.
Juan Pardo Claims Victory and $196K
With $153,071 guaranteed, Pardo and Vieira faced off in a closely contested heads-up match. Ultimately, the Spanish player triumphed, securing the win and pocketing $196,276, adding to his GGPoker winning streak.
This wasn’t Juan’s only final table on Monday, though it was his most significant and successful one.
Other Final Tables and Deep Runs by Juan Pardo
Juan also made it to the final table of the $3,000 Prime Time for the second day in a row. After finishing as the runner-up on Sunday, he had another shot at the title, but things didn’t go as well. This time, he settled for 5th place, taking home $12,422. The event was ultimately won by Samuel Mullur, who claimed $39,282 for first place.
To cap off a magical Monday, Juan reached another final table, this time with a six-figure prize at stake. Unfortunately, he was the first to be eliminated, adding $10,486 for his 9th-place finish. Barry Hutter went on to win the event, taking home $104,859.
Sergio Aido, Sergi Reixach, and Jon Ander Vallinas in WSOP Main Event Action
The WSOP Online Main Event guaranteed a whopping $25,000,000 prize pool, but the final tally reached $29,193,500, ensuring the winner would walk away with $4,021,012.
With only 100 players left, three Spanish representatives were still in the running: Sergio Aido, Sergi Reixach, and Jon Ander Vallinas, who has been on an impressive streak of results.
However, Vallinas was the first of the trio to bow out, finishing in 76th place for $33,897. Sergi Reixach followed shortly after, exiting in 46th place with a prize of $46,043.
The one who gave fans the most hope was Sergio Aido. The Asturian managed to stay in contention until the final three tables, where the six million-dollar prizes were within sight.
With just 24 players remaining, “Petgaming” secured $85,108 but was close to the next payout jump at 20th place, which awarded $115,784.
Short-stacked with just 11.4 big blinds, Aido went all-in with AdJd against an open raise from “Levistraus”, who called with AhQs. The board didn’t help Aido, and the better kicker from his Brazilian opponent sent “Petgaming” to the rail in 23rd place with $85,108.
